Pastor Vertina Hunt, a native of the eastern coast of North Carolina, graduated from North Carolina Central University with a Bachelor of Science in Education with a focus in Home Economics. After college, she developed her own business and brand, Tina's House of Fashion, and successfully operated that business for twenty years. After retiring from her business, Pastor Tina entered the Charlotte Mecklenburg School system as an educator, where she served faithfully for 14 years. In 2020, she received her Masters of Science in Human Services. She is also the proud parent of two beautiful children: Ira Hunt (33) and Ebony Hunt (29).

In 1981 Pastor Tina rededicated her life to Jesus Christ and joined Mayfield Memorial Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Dr. H. Diggs for thirteen years. God then spoke to Pastor Tina and instructed her to serve Pastor Barbara Cameron in any capacity needed. Pastor Tina joined Community Outreach Christian Ministries under the leadership of Pastors Houston and Barbara Cameron and served for eighteen years. During that period, she became an ordained minister in 2003, presided as President of the Women of Aglow Ministries (north-side) and ministered at the Women's Shelter each month. God then spoke to her again instructing her to go and serve two special leaders in any capacity required. Pastor Tina joined Living for God Deliverance Ministries under the leadership of Apostle's Andre and Tyna Clark, where she was ordained in the office of Pastor in 2009.

After serving three different ministries faithfully, she begun to seek God concerning her next phase... Pastorship. God placed His word in Pastor Tina's heart: Revelation 22:17 - "And the Spirit and bride say, come. And let him that hearth say, come. And let him that is at thirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely." Upon God's leading, Pastor Tina consulted with her spiritual father and mother, Apostles Moses and Evelyn Grant who had prophesied her pastorship twenty years earlier. The Grants listened as Pastor Tina shared God's vision. They prayed and accepted the honor of overseers, stating they would walk beside her for the journey ahead. On April 15, 2010 The River of Life Church Ministries came into existence from a vision the Lord gave Pastor Tina twelve years prior. On January 29, 2011,Pastor Tina and her congregation traveled to Columbia, SC for a leadership conference hosted by the Temple of Yahshua. During a special part of the service, Pastor Tina was ordained under the leadership of Apostle's Moses and Evelyn Grant of the Watchmen on the Wall Ministry. Pastor Tina also accepted Apostles Johnny and Debra Grant from the Temple of Yahshua as spiritual counselors. These powerful relationships aided in her spiritual growth and healing. The River of Life under the leadership of Pastor Tina began to flourish. As the ministry blossomed and developed, God placed key people into her life to help with the growth. In 2012, Pastor Tina spoke with Bishop Rick and Denise Williams from Charlotte Immanuel Church of All Nations and accepted their convenant relationship between the two ministries.

The River of Life continues to thrive, and it is also a fountain of life and love for its members and visitors. Pastor Tina strives to obey God, exemplify love, and encourage her leaders to go forth in their spiritual gifts.

In addition to the ministry, Pastor Tina developed the Life Outreach Restoration Center in 2011. Life Outreach Restoration is a local community outreach dedicated to uplifting the lives of those who are in need of financial assistance, housing, food, and clothing. Its goal to revive and restore pride in the surrounding communities.

God has given Pastor Tina a heart that exemplifies Jesus Christ. She has been a surrogate mother to many and a listening to countless others. God's hand is truly upon her.
